Sure, you could get pre-seasoned ones. But they are often kinda dusty, have you ever noticed that? And, although I am a big fan of salt, I find pre-seasoned nuts way too salty. (and who knows what they put in there anyway!)
So why not season your own? With tamari! (kissing cousin of soy sauce, and a little more meaty in flavour)
These are easy to make, taste delicious, and are healthy (in moderation, of course) as well! Come on, it's time to get nutty!
Tamari Almonds
adapted from Sundays at Moosewood Restaurant
Need - 1 parchment-lined baking sheet
2 cups raw, unseasoned almonds with skin
3 Tbsp tamari, approx
Preheat oven to 350°F.
Spread almonds out on lined pan and bake for 5 minutes.
Gather in the middle and sprinkle on tamari, using a spatula to make sure they all get coated.
Spread them out evenly again and bake 5 more minutes.
Turn oven off and let rest in oven for at least 5 more minutes to dry out.
Let cool completely.
